Ngong-Ping-360The Ngong Ping 360 is an aerial tramway on Lantau Island in Hong Kong which is considered as one of the most visited spots in Lantau Island. It is the ideal springboard to exploring Lantau Island. Till April 2005, it was once named as Tung Chung Cable Car Project. Ngong Ping Cable Car, a gondola lift and the Ngong Ping Village are the 3 main features of Ngong Ping 360 where it is being loved by many tourist. The journey begins with 25-minute cable car ride from Tung Chung which is on the north coast of Lantau. Its glass bottom offers a brilliant bird’s eye view of the deep blue sea and lush green mountainside underneath your feet. As you step out of the cable car, you will be greeted by the culturally themed 1.5-hectare Ngong Ping Village, where a wide array of shops and eateries in Ngong Ping Village offer a delightful shopping and dining experience.


Tai-O-Fishing-VillageThe Tai O Fishing Village is located in the Western coast of Lantau Island, which is also known as the "Venice of Hong Kong". This is a quaint and picturesque village, with the pang uks, a kind of traditional stilt houses predominant of the old Southern Chinese fishing villages, one of the few remaining places where you can still see them in Hong Kong. Tai O used to be a very important trading market and fishing port in Lantau Island, It is a feast for the eyes and good place to photography. Tourist used to stroll through the stalls and alleys to check out the live seafood tanks, the vast array of dried seafood and vegetables. This place remains one of the favourite places for locals to buy their fresh and dried seafood and the shrimp paste which is famous of this area. Tai O is considered as a hot tourist spot for both foreigners and local residents of other parts of Hong Kong. Boat rides are being offered by the locals and you will have no trouble in getting one. This is about 20 minutes ride into the sea, where many tourists come to Tai O specifically to take these trips to see Chinese pink dolphins (which is listed as one of the endangered species). During every May/June the Dragon Boat Festival in Tai O will be organised by three local Fishermen Associations which is an unique event that draws the attention of more tourist to this place.


Po-Lin-MonastryBoth the Po Lin Monastery & Tian Tan Buddha is adjacent to one other. Po Lin (Precious Lotus) Monastery is a highlight of Ngong Ping Village and it serves as a home to many a devout monk. This monastery is rich with colourful manifestations of Buddhist iconography and its pleasant garden is alive with birdsong and flowery scents. This Buddhist monastery founded by three monks visiting from Jiangsu Province on the Chinese mainland and was initially known simply as "The Big Hut" in 1906. This monastery boasts many prominent architectural structures, such as the Main Shrine Hall of Buddha, the Hall of Bodhisattva Skanda, etc., This Place has become a popular tourist attraction mainly because of the giant Tian Tan Buddha statue, a large bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni (informally known as the Big Buddha) was erected in 1993. Sitting 34 metres high and facing north to look over the Chinese people, this majestic bronze Buddha draws pilgrims from all over Asia and this is considered as one of the tallest statue around the world. As you can notice the bunch of visitors arriving by the bus especially during weekends and holidays. The statue may be visited at any time but the entrance to the inside of the building and the Monastery is limited from 10 am to 5:45 pm each day. It is open on weekends and holidays too.



The Inspiration Lake Recreation Centre is a gorgeous man-made lake which is also known as Inspiration Lake owned and maintained by the Disneyland Hong Kong, the atmosphere here is calm & relax perfect to be spent with family. The entry into this park is free however the parking is the only problem which is faced by all visitors where it is very limited. This place is ideal for cycling, biking, walking and there are pedaloes for hire. You can also shop a tasty snack or refreshing beverage during your day at the lake.

Wisdom-PathWisdom Path is located near to the Tian Tan Buddha which holds a series of 38 wooden steles (upright monuments) where each of the wooden steles are about 8-10m long. These steles display the verses from the centuries-old Heart Sutra — one of the world’s best-known prayers revered by Confucians, Buddhists and Taoists alike, but it is only written in Chinese version and no English trasilation can be seen. The Wisdom Path is also surrounded by stunning and beautiful scenery where tourist can enjoy the beautiful views of the Hong Kong’s second highest Peak the Lantau Peak which is famous for its amazing sunrise scenery.


Disneyland-Hong-Kong-&-Discovery-BayApart from the above destinations, Lantau Island also holds other interesting destination for the tourist like Discovery Bay, a serene resort development on the northeastern coast of Lantau Island. The Silver Mine Bay Beach is considered as the main beach in Mui Wo which is one of the five gazetted beaches on Lantau. And Disneyland Hong Kong is one of the most famous tourist spots in Hong Kong which is located in Lantau Island tourist should pay a visit to this amusement park if they visit Hong Kong!
